Shubh took to the X again, this time to express “sorrow and dismay” with his followers caused by a post. The rapper posted, “As a young rapper-singer hailing from Punjab, it was my life’s dream to put my music on an international dais. But the recent happenings have tumbled my hard work and progress, and I wanted to say a few words to express my dismay and sorrow.”

“I’m extremely disheartened by the cancellation of my tour in India. I was highly amped up and enthusiastic to perform in my country, in front of my people. The preparations were in full swing and I was practicing with my heart and soul for the last two months. And I was very excited, happy, and ready to perform. But I guess destiny had some other plans,” he added in his post.

It is the land of my GURUS and my ANCESTORS, who did not even blink an eye to make sacrifices for the freedom of this land, for its glory, and for the family.”

What Happened?

In his Instagram post dropped earlier, which he eventually deleted, the Indian map had cut out the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and the North-East. The timing of his post is sensitive as it came amid a tussle between India and Canada over the death of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar.

Due to his objectionable post, Shubh was accused of supporting Khalistan and their agenda of having a separate state carved out of India.

This made sponsors and organisers take back their names out of the Subh’s major tour. boAT and Bookmyshow withdrew their support immideately after the singer’s post caused stir in the nation.
