Filmmaker Rakesh Roshan underwent an angioplasty earlier this week and is well on the way to recovery.
Speaking to this writer, Rakesh Roshan said, “No worries, it was a small routine procedure. I am fine. I have miles to go. Many movies to make.”
In 2019, Rakesh Roshan battled and overcame throat cancer.
In 2000, Rakesh was shot at by gangsters for refusing extortion money. He drove himself to the nearest hospital with a bullet in his abdomen.
Yes, he’s a survivor.
Says the Krissh director, “The trick is not to let the setbacks bog you down. Remember, the more God tests you, the stronger you get. In 2020, I lost my best friend Chintu (Rishi Kapoor) to cancer. We both had cancer, though of different kinds. I was a hundred per cent cured, touchwood. Health comes first. And this is what I told Chintu also. Both of us had cancer, though of different kinds. Sadly, I couldn’t attend his last rites because of my own health condition.”
