Aryan Khan, son of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, is gearing up for his highly anticipated directorial debut with the Netflix series Ba***ds of Bollywood which was announced earlier this year and has already created buzz in the entertainment industry.
At the recent Waves 2025 Summit, Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos shared his excitement about the series while speaking with actor Saif Ali Khan. When asked which upcoming show he was most excited about, Sarandos responded, “We have a show called Ba***ds of Bollywood coming up. That is really fun. I’m gonna leave the audience to try to figure out the title completely. But it is so fun, I have got four episodes in, you’ll be getting it soon too.”
To which Saif Ali Khan added, “I have to say I saw a little bit of that show as well, the one you just mentioned and it looked fantastic. My kids have done a little appearance in it.”
When unveiling the title earlier this year, Shah Rukh Khan teased “There is a story behind this name and Aryan and his team will present it later before you.” The series promises “An unabashed, entertaining ride through the adventures of a charming, ambitious outsider navigating the glitzy yet tricky world of Bollywood.”

In a conversation with Entrepreneur Raj Shamani, Karan Johar praised the 27-year-old’s directorial debut “I don’t know if I’m even supposed to say this, but I have huge belief in Aryan Khan’s directorial talent. I don’t want to say anything about his Netflix show, because he’ll get very angry, but all I’ll say is this: watch out. If there is a King, there will be a Prince. I can say this with confidence because I’ve seen the show.”
Karan added, “He has an individualistic voice as a director. He’s not anything like you’d expect Shah Rukh Khan’s son to be. He’s his own person. He works quietly, he doesn’t carry the baggage of his father, he doesn’t carry the weight of his legacy. He works hard; he works 20 hours a day. He is a rare personality type.”
Reports suggest the cast includes Bobby Deol, Mona Singh and newcomers Sahher Bambba, and Lakshya in leading roles. The show is also expected to include cameo appearances from Bollywood stars including Salman Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, and Ranveer Singh.
