Students of all classes have been asked to obtain parental consent for their APAAR ID. To register for the APAAR ID, students must present their Aadhaar card. This initiative was launched by the Centre, which established Academic Banks of Credits (ABC Bank) to issue APAAR ID cards. The APAAR ID provides benefits to all students, allowing them to access their educational degrees, accolades, scholarships, and other achievements. This move aims to establish an academic record database for all students.

What is an APAAR ID? 

The full form of APAAR is ‘Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry.’ This card functions as an educational ecosystem register, also known as an ‘Edulocker.’ The APAAR ID was introduced by the government in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The APAAR will provide a unique identification for all students across the country.

The APAAR ID will serve as a digital ID for students in private schools, government schools, and universities.

What are the benefits? 

The facility will allow students to access their academic credits, degrees, and other achievements. Schools will be able to retrieve the records of any student for admission, transfer, or other academic purposes using the unique APAAR ID. Additionally, the One Nation One Student ID card will be linked with the student’s Aadhaar card.

Consent Form

Schools can register a student for APAAR after receiving personal details such as height, weight, blood group, and other information, once they have parental approval. Similarly, if parents wish to apply for APAAR, they must obtain consent from the school. The consent form can be downloaded from the official APAAR website.
