Revised CUET Guidelines Coming Soon: UGC Aims For More Student-Friendly Examination Process

The University Grants Commission (UGC) is preparing to release revised guidelines for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) for both undergraduate (CUET-UG) and postgraduate (CUET-PG) programs in 2025.

The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) for undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) courses will undergo major changes starting in 2025. This comes after suggestions from an expert panel. Jagadesh Kumar, the chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC), announced these changes, aiming to improve the exam process, which faced several problems in the past.

An expert committee reviewed different parts of the CUET, such as its structure, exam duration, syllabus, and how it is managed. Kumar said the goal is to make the exam more student-friendly and efficient based on feedback from previous years.

The committee has already shared its recommendations, and these were discussed in a recent meeting. The UGC will soon release a draft of the new guidelines for CUET 2025 and invite feedback from students, parents, teachers, and educational institutions.

Since its start in 2022, CUET-UG has faced challenges like technical issues, problems with exam schedules, and the need to adjust scores due to multiple exam shifts. In 2024, the hybrid mode of the exam also faced criticism after exams were suddenly canceled in Delhi.

The changes in 2025 are meant to fix these problems and make the exam process smoother and fairer for students. As CUET plays an important role in university admissions, these updates are aimed at making the exam more fair and efficient for students across India.
