Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood said on Saturday that a modern education system will soon be introduced in the capital’s schools, which will include advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, smart boards and robotics.
Minister Sood, who visited a government school in Surat city of Gujarat, expressed confidence that this step will not only improve the quality of education in Delhi’s government schools, but will also give students information about new technologies.
He visited several classrooms of the school to see how studies are being done with the help of smart boards. Along with this, he interacted with the students to know how effective the smart boards are proving to be for them and what kind of educational help they are getting from it.
According to the government statement, the minister also inspected the school’s AI and robotics lab, where students showed practical projects on topics like drones, 3D printers and modern sensor-based security systems.
Sood said that in Delhi, which is the country’s capital and where all the resources are available, there are only a few hundred smart boards in government schools. Gujarat, which faces natural disasters like floods in many districts every year, has installed more than 1.1 lakh smart classrooms so far.
The visit was aimed at studying the implementation of the National Education Policy 2020 and the excellent educational efforts adopted in various states. Sood said that the educational reforms undertaken by Gujarat are exemplary and other states of the country should also take inspiration from them.
