Delhi Weather Update: Red Alert Issued As City Boils At 45°C; Rain Forecast Offers Temporary Relief From Intensifying Heatwave

Temperatures have reached dangerous levels in different parts of Delhi, with the city recording its highest maximum temperature of 43.8 degrees Celsius on Tuesday. Residents are advised to take necessary precautions as a surge in heat-related illnesses is being witnessed among people.

Delhi Weather Update: The national capital continues to grill under extreme temperatures soaring above 43 degrees Celsius. As the heatwave intensifies, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has sounded a red alert in the city until today, June 12, 2025. Residents are advised to take necessary precautions as a surge in heat-related illnesses is being witnessed among people.

Temperatures have reached dangerous levels in different parts of Delhi, with the city recording its highest maximum temperature of 43.8 degrees Celsius on Tuesday. On Thursday, June 12, the temperatures are expected to touch the 45 degrees Celsius mark. However, Delhiites might experience some respite from the scorching heat as the Met Department has predicted a partly cloudy sky in the capital. There is also a possibility of very light to light rain, accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty and dust-raising winds.

Delhi Weather Forecast For Next 5 Days

According to IMD, heatwave conditions are likely to continue at isolated places in Delhi on June 13th. IMD has issued a yellow alert for tomorrow; however, the residents might wake up to a partly cloudy sky and possibly witness rain, thunderstorms, lightning with gusty winds (40 to 50 Km/h) temporarily reaching 60 Km/h. Similar conditions are expected to persist till 15th June.

Thereafter, on 16th and 17th June, Delhi is set to see a generally cloudy sky accompanied by light showers. Meanwhile, the Weather Body has predicted no heatwave conditions in Delhi from 14th to 17th June. Additionally, the temperatures may go below 40 degrees Celsius by coming Tuesday.
