Delhi Weather Update: The weather has turned pleasant in Delhi after rain lashed parts of the national capital on Saturday. As monsoon nears Delhi, showers have been predicted for Sunday, June 29 as well. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for moderate rain and thunderstorm in the capital. The present weather conditions in Delhi are influenced by the advancement of southwest monsoon which has covered majority of the states and is progressing towards northern states.
Delhi Weather Update: Forecast For Sunday, June 29
The IMD forecast for Sunday, June 29 indicates a rainy day with a yellow alert in place. Light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorm and lightning is expected today. The sky will remain generally cloudy with maximum temperature around 36°C. Thunderstorm is likely to hit the capital during evening with gusty winds prevailing at 30-40 kmph.
When Will The Capital Receive Monsoon Showers?
According to the IMD, the Northern limit of monsoon continue to pass through Jaisalmer, Bikaner, Jhunjhunu, Bharatpur, Rampur, Sonipat, and Anup Nagar. Conditions are becoming favourable for further advance of southwest monsoon over remaining parts of the country during next 2 days. With this progression, Delhi is likely to witness monsoon showers during next two days. Pre-monsoon shower conditions have already begun in the capital which includes sharp drop in maximum temperatures, sudden thunderstorms, light to moderate rain, high humidity levels etc.

The rainy spell will continue throughout the upcoming week (June 30-July 6). Light to moderate rain has been predicted on most of the days.

June 30: Generally cloudy sky with moderate rain has been forecast by the IMD. A yellow alert for rainfall has been issued by the IMD for rain accompanied by thunderstorm, lightning and gusty winds. The maximum temperature will remain at 34°C.
July 1: Rain accompanied by thunderstorm and lightning has been predicted on Tuesday. The sky will remain cloudy with maximum temperature expected to remain at 33°C.
July 2: For Wednesday, the IMD has forecast thunderstorm with rain. The maximum temperature is expected to remain at 33°C.
July 3: Rain will continue to lash Delhi on Thursday. The maximum temperature is expected to remain around 35°C.
July 4: The weather will start turning dry from Friday as no rainfall is predicted for the day. The sky will remain partly cloudy with maximum temperature at 35°C.
July 5: There is no rain forecast for Saturday, however, the sky will remain partly cloudy. The maximum temperature is expected at 34°C.
