A sensational case has come to light from Bengaluru, which has shocked the entire city and animal lovers. According to NDTV report, a woman is accused of brutally killing one of her three pet dogs. It is feared that this act may have been done due to some tantric ritual or black magic. After this heartbreaking incident, the debate has once again started regarding the safety of pets and animal rights.
According to the information, the accused woman has been identified as Triparna Payak, who hails from West Bengal and lives in Mahadevpura area of Bengaluru. It is alleged that she first strangled her Labrador breed dog and then slit its throat with a knife. This incident was carried out in her apartment itself. After this, wrapping the body in a cloth, she closed the windows and doors of the flat, locked it and disappeared.
This incident came to light when the neighbors complained about the smell coming from the flat. BBMP officials arrived at the spot and when the door was broken, the decomposed body of the dog was found inside with a deep wound on its neck.
What was even more shocking was that two other dogs were found alive in the flat, who were tied tightly to the wall and no food and water was provided to them. Complainant Dr. Rudresh Kumar told NDTV that both the dogs were rescued in time and are now undergoing treatment at the BBMP animal hospital. The postmortem of the dead dog revealed that it had died four days ago.
Several religious objects and pictures of gods and goddesses were found scattered inside the flat, deepening the suspicion that the incident could be part of some tantric ritual. At present, it is also being investigated whether the incident is a result of mental instability or a deliberate tantric act.
The police have registered a case against Triparna Payak under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act and relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. As of Saturday, she was absconding and the police are searching for her.
