Xiaomi has officially introduced the SU7, its much-anticipated debut electric vehicle. The SU7 will be manufactured in China by Beijing Automotive Industry Holding (BAIC). The electric coupe car will be available in three variants: SU7, SU7 Pro, and SU7 Max, with deliveries set to begin in a few months.

How will Xiaomi SU7 work?
Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun thinks that the car SU7 can outperform competitors such as the Tesla Model S and Porsche Taycan in terms of acceleration and many other features. The much-anticipated EV will use Xiaomi’s consumer electronics experience and will use the same operating system as the company’s popular smartphones.
How is Xiaomi SU7 designed?
The length of this electric sedan is 4,997 mm, its width is 1,963 mm and its height is 1,440/1,455 mm. At the same time, its wheelbase is 3,000 mm. The electric sedan is available with a single or dual-motor powertrain. The rear-wheel drive single motor type has a peak power of 295 hp and a reported top speed of 210 mph. The dual-motor design of the vehicle, on the other hand, is limited to the top-spec model, with an all-wheel-drive system producing 664 hp and a top speed of 265 mph. Xiaomi SU7 will be made available in 3 paint schemes – Aqua Blue, Mineral Gray, and Verdant Green. It has been provided with lidar-based autonomous driving features like self-parking, adaptive cruise control etc. The car runs on the brand’s HyperOS operating system.
Features of Xiaomi’s first electric car
Xiaomi offers two battery pack options for the SU7. The entry-level trims will have a 73.6kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery from BYD, while higher-end models will have a larger 101kWh CTB (Cell-to-body) battery pack from CATL. The driving range of this EV will be up to 668 km for the base trim and 800 km for the top-of-the-line SU7 Max variant.
