Kinetic DX Spotted Testing In Production Ready State! Launch Imminent?

The scooter would be a boxy one and would resemble the original Kinetic Honda Dx closely. The headlight as well as the body panels all point to the resemblance to the older iteration of the scooter

Kinetic has been planning a comeback in the two-wheeler industry with a line-up of Electric Vehicles (EVs). A few weeks ago, reports surfaced that the brand had registered a design patent for a scooter that appeared to be a 21st-century EV reincarnation of the iconic Kinetic DX. Now, weeks after the design patent filing, the scooter has also been spotted testing.

Although the scooter was covered in camouflage while being tested, it appeared to follow the same design language as the original model. The scooter will feature a boxy silhouette and closely resembles the original Kinetic Honda DX. The headlight, as well as the body panels, further reinforce its resemblance to the earlier iteration of the scooter.

The scooter was spotted by Autocar. It featured red stitching that continued across the seat. As per their report, the scooter was finished in red, and the new colour could be a potential add-on for users.

Mechanical Updates

Going by the images that have surfaced online, it’s clear that the new scooter is likely to be powered by a hub-mounted motor, front disc brake, and a twin shock absorber setup. The hub-mounted configuration suggests that the performance output would be similar to the likes of the iQube and Chetak.

Since the test mule spotted appeared to be production-ready, it’s possible that the EV scooter might be headed for a production run soon. As Kinetic plans a comeback into a highly competitive market, it is possible that the company might price the scooter around Rs 1 lakh. The scooter would have to compete against the likes of the TVS iQube, Ola’s range of scooters, as well as the Honda Activa E.
